the little man stayed with Cat and Wesley last night while we went to the Jaycees Young Man/Young Woman banquet. Robyn Lynch was the women's winner and Lee Rogers was the men's winner.
also, at the event, James E. Mathis Sr. was honored with the lifetime achievement award for his tireless dedication to community work. Popi is James' paternal great-grandfather as well as his name-sake. truly moving speech given by Kit Dunlap (President of the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce) as she honored Popi for his work.
James did very well with the baby sitters and was asleep when we got home. today is mine and katie's 5-year wedding anniversary!! he woke up a bit cranky, bu is off to Grana's house for the day.

February 24th, 2010
the little man is doing well. in mid-january, we fought possible RSV and breathing issues. we treated that with antibiotics and he came through the breathing treatments with flying colors.
he is at a very fun age right now...laughing, very interactive, talkative, etc. he wants to watch everything. he loves playing with the brown dog and wants to see everything the people around him are doing.
he weighs ~15lbs right now.
sleeping great

Fussy day
Today has been a bit of a fussy day for the little man. We did manage to get out and about with Kelly and the Bug to go to Mule Camp. Poppi would be so proud that the Curb Market has grown into what it is today. We're happy to keep the tradition alive and support the efforts.
This has been a long weekend for us...Gainesville DU banquet Thursday night, 8am work session on Friday AM, dinner with Granna and Granddad on Friday night, 5am Jaycees fishing tourney Saturday AM, followed by 730am 5k work session, 2pm fishing tourney work session, GT football game (with 78 minutes lightning delay) and a busy Sunday.
Ready for bed. Cross your fingers that the little man sleeps this evening.

Weight update
James weighed 6lbs 9oz at birth.
He left the hospital on day 2 at 6lbs 6oz.
His checkup at 4 days old got him back to 6lbs 9oz.
Two week checkup showed 7lbs 11oz.
The "Dubnik family scales" weighed him in at 8lbs 10oz at one month old.
I think we'll start calling him kudzu...
